At the end of this term, we have been delighted to hold two nights of pantomime fun in our Great Hall with a production of the classic tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves… with our own twists!

Led through the story by Fairy Flora and Muddles, all of our performers threw themselves into our production and created some unforgettable moments on stage whilst telling this classic fairytale.

“I am so proud of our cast of Snow White 2025!  They have worked tirelessly to create a performance to remember.  As always, there have been some bumps along the way, but the entire cast have risen to the challenge and we have had a lot of fun during the process.  I am so excited to work with such a talented bunch of pupils, and look forward to the next challenges!”

Snow White is forced by her stepmother, Queen EvilLynn, to slave away and perform chores for her upcoming royal banquet, whilst friendly Muddles supports her, Snow White can’t help but dream about her handsome prince.

Although EvilLynn’s mirror may claim she’s the fairest in the land, the prince has other ideas, and it’s not long before the mirror catches on too. EvilLynn banishes the prince and asks poor Muddles to take Snow White into the woods and kill her with a dagger. Muddles has too big a heart to break Snow White’s and so, along with Fairy Flora, helps Snow to find her way to a very cottagecore... well, cottage. There she meets the dwarves, who take her into their care. Prince Valiant knows he needs to find his new love, and with the help of our trusted Fairy, he is led in the direction of Issa, Clara and, of course, Muddles.

After the mirror reveals that Snow White isn’t gone, EvilLynn calls upon her magical powers and creates a magical apple that will put Snow White into a never-ending sleep. She disguises herself as an old hag and tricks poor Snow White into taking a bite.

Thankfully, Snow’s kindness has earned her plenty of love from her friends who rally to save her. Prince Valiant is on hand to give Snow White the kiss of true love and bring her back, ready to defeat EvilLynn and bring everyone their happily ever afters.

"The school’s production of Snow White was a delightful mix of humour, heart, and hard work, bringing a fresh and entertaining KES twist to the classic tale. The cast’s dedication shone through in every scene, with standout performances and fantastic comedic timing that had the audience laughing throughout. Cameo roles from staff members added an extra layer of fun, much to the delight of pupils and parents alike. Behind the scenes, the tireless efforts of the production crew, costume designers, and stagehands ensured a seamless and magical experience. A true KES team effort, this production was a testament to the talent and commitment of everyone involved."

The production was supported by a host of students and staff who all came together to put on a fantastic string of performances, including cameos from some of our fantastic KES staff who helped the story along the way! Lighting and sound were run by our BLAST team of students who took the lead very capably, creating stunning effects for our cast on stage.

Our version of Snow White also included some modern takes on the classic with covers of “Hot To Go”, “Keeping your head up”, “She’s so lovely” and an iconic version of “YMCA”, reimagined as YDCA for our dwarves!

A huge thank you goes out to all of our audience members and programme sponsors who supported our shows and to the staff and students who made it possible to produce a show of this scale.
